My own experimental texture weaves with binder

Here are the experimental weaves I have created for portmeirion's fired up competition. When creating an experimental textured surface, I have chosen weave with both natural and manmade fibers. By doing this I have been able to create contrast within the structure and feel of the fabric. After creating my weave designs I took them into the print workshop where I applied binder, by doing this I have been able to see the product more as a ceramic texture than woven. The binder picks up the added textures and details that aren’t obvious straight away, it makes the woven pieces go from craft to contemporary.
